### It hums but nothing heats.

On a combination cavity that separates into two questions quickly, because the convection side and the microwave side fail independently. If convection heats and microwave does not, the magnetron circuit or the door interlocks are the place to look, and the interlocks are far more common — they are wear parts and they are cheap. If neither heats, the supply and the main board come first. Sixty seconds on a cup of water tells us which half is out before anybody drives over.

### The display shows ERROR 04.

No published document decodes it, and guessing would be worse than admitting that. The OM8334S, OT8687S, OP8664A and OCM8456S manuals all carry the same generic instruction — disconnect, reconnect, and call a technician if it persists — with no table behind it. The digits mean something to a service tool and nothing to a manual. Do the reset the manual asks for; if it comes back, the diagnosis happens at the appliance.

### The door does not feel like it used to.

Take that seriously and stop using it. A microwave door is a shielding component, not a lid, and the interlock switches behind the latch are what prove to the machine that it is safe to run. A door that has dropped, a latch that needs a push or a hinge with play in it is a problem worth a visit on its own, even while the machine is still heating perfectly well.

### Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

For a built-in combination cavity, usually yes, and for a reason that has nothing to do with the machine: it is fitted into a cabinet cut to its dimensions, and the replacement that fits that opening is not a shelf item. Interlocks, fans, boards and door parts are ordinary repairs. We will tell you at the diagnostic if it is the magnetron on an old cavity, because that is the case where the arithmetic changes.
