# An Asko Oven Showing Err and Two Digits: What the Manuals Actually Say

The oven stops, the display shows Err and two digits, and every search returns a confident table. Here is what the manufacturer's own documents say.

## What six manuals actually print

The OCS8456S manual, page 50: an error code is displayed, ERRXX, where XX denotes the number of the error, indicating an error in the electronic module operation. The remedy given is to disconnect the appliance from the power for a few minutes, reconnect it, switch it on, and — if the code comes back — to call a service technician.

The OCM84331BG manual, page 43, says the same in different words. So do the OP8651 at page 35, the OT8636S at page 36 and the OCM8487S at page 37. The OCS8664A follows the same pattern.

Six manuals. No table in any of them.

## Why that is worth saying out loud

Because a decoded ERR1 to ERR15 list circulates widely, and it is not sourced to anything. It matches none of the manuals above. The two sites carrying it share wording and structure closely enough that they are one source copied, not two independent readings.

We would rather tell you the honest answer — the digits are for a service tool — than repeat a table that would make this page rank and be wrong.

## Do the reset the manual asks for

Isolate the oven at the breaker rather than at a switch, leave it for a few minutes, restore power and set the clock. On a control that latched a transient condition, that clears it and the oven behaves. It is the only owner-level step the manufacturer offers, and it works often enough to be worth doing before anybody is called.

## What to note if it comes back

Three things, and they are worth more than the digits:

- **Which functions still heat.** Grill, fan, bake, top and bottom elements — try each. Partial heating narrows this to one element or one relay before anything is opened.- **When it stopped.** During preheat, halfway through a long roast, or during a self-clean cycle. Each points somewhere different.- **Whether a thermal cut-out has tripped before.** An oven that has been running hot and now shows an error is telling a different story from one that failed cold.

## The parts question, said early

Asko lists no ovens for sale in the United States at all. The machines here arrived through earlier distribution or were specified into a kitchen around European appliances, and their parts come through a European channel. That is a lead time rather than a surcharge, and we state it at the diagnostic rather than after — because on an oven that is out of catalog, when the part arrives is half of the decision.
