### The opening measured before anything is ordered

Fitting an integrated machine into a space drawn for a different one is most of what installation means here, and the appliance is the quick half. The panel, the scribe, the toe kick, the services behind and the air the machine needs to breathe are the work. An integrated cabinet that does not fit is not a delivery problem, it is a joinery problem, and finding that with a tape measure on a Tuesday costs a fraction of finding it on delivery day. The ventilation gap gets recorded as well as made, because a machine boxed in more tightly than its fitter allowed will keep failing whatever is replaced inside it.

Measure and check the services

Hang the panel and prove the air

### Do you take the old machine away?

Where it can be got out without dismantling the run, yes. On a fitted kitchen that is sometimes a genuine question rather than a formality, and it is settled at the measure rather than on the day.
