Nothing is vented outside on a condenser or heat pump dryer: moisture is condensed out of the air and collected, so the machine depends entirely on three filters and a condenser staying clear. In a South Florida closet those load several times faster than the manual assumes, and clearing them closes this complaint more reliably than any component does. Where they are genuinely clean, the moisture sensor bars come next — softener leaves an invisible film that makes the machine read a wet load as dry — and only then the heating side, which on a heat pump machine is a different order of cost.

Clear the three filters

Collection container emptied, door lint filter rinsed and dried, plinth opened and the condenser filter washed out. In this climate that last one packs solid within months.

Prove the air actually moves

Airflow checked through the machine with the filters back in, because a filter that looks clean and a filter that flows are not the same thing.

Then test heat and sensing

Heater or heat pump circuit, thermostats, and the moisture sensor bars cleaned and read. A film on those bars tells the machine the load is already dry.

### Which filter do most people not know about?

The condenser, behind the plinth at the bottom front. It has to be pulled out and washed until the water runs clear rather than tapped out over a bin, and on a machine that has never had it done, doing it once is frequently the whole repair.

### Does the closet door make a difference?

Genuinely, and it is a fair test. Run a load with the door open and compare. If drying improves noticeably, the room is starving the machine and ventilation is the fix.
