Symptom
Asko dishwasher will not start
Dead silence, and on an integrated machine the prime suspect is mechanical rather than electrical: is the door. A custom panel adds weight the hinge springs were set for on installation day, joinery settles over the years, and a door that looks perfectly shut can be sitting a millimeter proud of the switch that proves it. On the Outdoor machines there is even a message for it in as many words. After the door there is the supply, and then a control that is genuinely not responding — in that order, because that is the order of cost.

The door is not satisfying its switch
On integrated machines nothing else comes close. Springs tensioned for a lighter panel, or hinges that have settled, leave the latch fractionally short of its switch.

What to do in the next ten minutes
Press the door closed until you hear the latch, then start the program again. Check no delay start is set — it is easy to leave on and it produces this complaint exactly. Look at whether anything else on that circuit has power, and if the machine can be reached, check the plug behind the cabinet is home. If the panel is completely dark, that is a different problem from a panel that lights up and does nothing.
Why the door is a circuit
A dishwasher will not run unless it is satisfied the door is shut, and it decides that with a switch rather than with a latch. The two usually agree, but not always: a latch can click while the switch stays open, and on an integrated machine carrying a heavy custom panel that gap opens up slowly as the hinges wear. The component is inexpensive and the adjustment routine — well worth catching before the door itself starts to drop.
