Asko washer not draining
A cycle that has finished with the water still in it, and a machine that then refuses to spin — that refusal is deliberate rather than a second failure, because spinning a full drum would put the water on the floor. How the machine says so depends entirely on the panel: the display models print a number, the numbered-LED models a short code from an unrelated family, the analog ones a letter and a light, and the premium panels write out a sentence. Behind every one of them is the same short path from sump to standpipe, and the cheap end of it ends most of these.

Coins, buttons, hair and shredded tissue gather there on purpose — that trap exists to be unscrewed. Where nobody ever has, clearing it is the entire job.

Narrow it down before anybody arrives
A description of the behaviour leaves a few possible causes. A code names the subsystem, and the model number says which parts to bring. Either one shortens the visit; both together usually settle it.

What to do in the next ten minutes
Switch the machine off. Open the lower panel and find the small drain hose beside the filter cap — pull it out, hold it over a shallow tray and let the drum empty, refilling the tray as needed. Only then unscrew the filter cap. Clear what is in it, check the impeller behind it with a finger, and screw the cap home until it is firm. Run a spin program on the empty drum.
Why the machine will not spin either
Spin is interlocked with drainage on every front loader: the control will not accelerate a drum with water in it, because the imbalance at speed would be violent and most of the water would leave the machine sideways. So a single blocked filter produces two complaints — no drain and no spin — and people quite reasonably report the second one. On the phone it is worth mentioning both, because together they narrow this considerably.
The cap that causes the next call
More than a few of the leaks we are called to are a filter cap that was opened to clear a blockage and not seated properly afterwards. It needs to go back firmly and square, and the machine should be run once with a towel underneath to prove it. That is worth saying plainly, because the person who cleared the filter did the right thing and deserves to know how it ends.
