Asko microwave door interlock repair
A door that needs a push, a latch with play in it, or a cavity that has stopped running altogether — one circuit behind all three. The interlocks are safety switches, wired so that the machine cannot run unless all of them agree the door is shut, and a door that has dropped on its hinges stops satisfying them long before it looks wrong. This is worth a visit on its own even while the machine is still heating perfectly well, and we would rather say that than wait to be called for something else.

How this visit actually goes
The same order every time, so nothing is opened and nothing is charged before you have seen the figure and said yes.
-
01
Check the door's geometry first
Hinge play, drop and how the latch enters. A switch replaced under a dropped door will be replaced again within the year.
-
02
Test all three switches in sequence
Each one through a full open and close, because they fail one at a time and the machine gives no clue which.
-
03
Refit and verify the seal and output
Door aligned, switches proved, and a timed heating test to confirm the cavity is performing as it should.

Built-in combination cavities · ERROR XX, undecoded in four manuals Asko microwave repair in Miami
This badge has never meaningfully sold a countertop microwave in the United States. What there is, and what we are called to, is the built-in combination cavity — microwave and convection in one oven, the OCM and OM lines, fitted into a tall run beside a full oven. It fails the same way the ovens do and it reports the same way: ERROR followed by two digits, which four separate manuals print without ever saying what the digits mean. That is a signal and we publish it as one. The part of this machine that actually fails often is more mundane — the door interlocks, which are safety switches, and which stop the cavity dead the moment one of the three disagrees with the others.
- Built-in combination cavities only — no US countertop model on this badge
- ERROR XX is undecoded in the OM, OT, OP and OCM manuals alike
- Three door interlocks in series: one out of agreement stops the machine

About Asko microwave door interlock repair
Three switches in series, and one disagreement stops everything
The interlocks exist so that the cavity cannot run unless the machine is satisfied the door is closed and sealed. They are mechanical, they are operated every time the door shuts, and they wear — and when one stops confirming, the machine stops dead without saying which. Testing them one at a time is most of the labor. The geometry is corrected with them, because a switch fitted under a door that has dropped on its hinges will be fitted again within the year.

Before you book
Questions about Asko microwave door interlock repair
The door works, it just needs a firmer push.
That is the reason to book rather than a reason to wait. A microwave door is a shielding component, and one that has moved on its hinges is telling you the geometry has changed even while the machine still heats.
Is it dangerous to keep using?
We will not tell you it is safe over the telephone. A cavity with a door problem gets looked at rather than reasoned about remotely, and that is the whole of our advice on this one.
