Asko dishwasher not draining
The program finishes and there is a pool in the sump. On this make the machine will tell you so in one of three unrelated ways depending on which generation is behind the panel — a printed number on the current display machines, a blink pattern on the legacy boards, and a colon-format string on the Outdoor door whose digits mean something else again. Underneath all three the machine is identical: a filter stack, a drain pump, a hose and whatever the sink end was connected to. Two of those four are free to check and they end this complaint more often than any part does.

Something is jammed in the pump
Glass, a stone or a screw reaches the impeller and stops it. The machine will often raise a pump-specific message rather than a drainage one, which is a useful distinction if the display prints words.

An air gap silted up, a disposal branch never punched out, or a hose crushed when the machine was last pushed back. All three drain slowly for months before they stop.

Does the sink drain normally?
Run the tap and watch. A slow sink and a full dishwasher are one problem, and it is not the appliance.

Is the filter seated?
Lift it, rinse it, and turn it until it locks. People rinse the top filter and leave the plate beneath, which is where the load actually is.

What does the machine say, exactly?
The characters matter: F11 on a display machine and F:45 on an Outdoor door are different tables. Write down the model from the door edge with it.

A description of the behaviour leaves a few possible causes. A code names the subsystem, and the model number says which parts to bring. Either one shortens the visit; both together usually settle it.

What to do in the next ten minutes
Switch the machine off at the wall. Take out the bottom basket and lift the filter stack out — coarse filter, fine filter, and the plate beneath — and rinse all of it under a tap. Look in the sump for glass, a cherry stone or a label. Put the stack back and turn it until it seats; a quarter-turn short is the reason for the next call. Then run a rinse program and watch whether the water goes.
