What to do in the next ten minutes
Empty the container and seat it firmly — most report full because they are not fully home. Run a load and look at how much water it actually collects. If the machine is plumbed to a waste rather than using the container, check that the hose is not kinked and that the waste it goes into is clearing. Note whether the message appears at the start of a cycle or partway through.
Where the water actually comes from
Everything the dryer removes from the washing ends up either in the container or down the drain — there is no third place. A full container after a large load of towels is the machine working exactly as designed, and a container that has stopped filling is the one that should worry you, because it means moisture is not being removed at all.
